There was uproar during the 109th-anniversary celebrations of the Adisadel College in Cape Coast on Saturday, March 9, 2019, when names of prominent persons the school has produced were mentioned.

President Nana Ado Dankwa Akufo-Addo who was the Guest of Honour for the occasion, listed some notable persons for holding the flag of the school high and sarcastically, included the name of Nana Appiah Mensah alias NAM 1 generating spontaneous laughter from both guests and students.

“I love music and it is great to know that Adisadel produced JK Amponsah popularly known as Agya Koo Nimo classical example of traditional music and the popular hiplife musician, the late Terry Bonchaka. Chairperson, I have also been made aware that Nana Appiah Mensah a.k.a NAM 1 of Menzgold fame or notoriety depending on your viewpoint is also a graduate of ADISCO. They say it takes all sorts…the ADISCO list can go on and on”, he said to cheers and boos.

Nana Appiah Mensah alias NAM 1 who owned troubled gold dealership firm, Menzgold is currently in police detention the United Arab Emirates where he was arrested late last year over what MyNewsGh.co gathered is a deal gone bad.

Back in Ghana several thousands of persons who invested their monies with his company, have had their cash locked up and looking up to government for intervention after several failed attempts to locate NAM 1 or his assignees.

Meanwhile, Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) in January this year secured a court order to freeze landed properties and companies belonging to Nana Appiah Mensah alias

But his father who believes in the innocence of his said, warned that Persons who benefited from the cash of the embattled Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Menzgold Ghana Limited, have the dreaded Nogokpo shrine in the Volta Region and the Antoa Nyamaa in the Ashanti Region to contend with.

“A lot of issues will come out. Some people are doing things which are very disgusting. Many people will die because we are going to invoke curses. People who have benefited from him are now on air claiming he is bad. We are not going to use guns but will curse them since they are refusing to admit”, he threatened.
