A former coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Isaac Opeele Boateng has openly confessed that and thanked the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for implementing the free Senior High School (SHS) policy, noting that the policy has saved him from numerous demands that would have been made of him by scores of people for fees and other expenditure as school as resumed.

The former coach for Ghana’s under 17 National team revealed but for the free SHS policy, he would have had to help many parents to pay fees in addition to supporting them buy some needs for their children as senior high schools reopen.

“But for free SHS, I would have been in trouble this week ooo The students, “Bro Opeele, pls bag, shoe, provision, transport this that, this that” Eeeei, imagine helping their parents to pay their wards school fees too Prez @AkufoAddo thanks for saving me, ” he tweeted last week.

The free SHS policy, which was implemented at the beginning of the 2017/2018 academic year, makes public senior high school education across the country fee-free.

The policy is one of the flagship programmes of government and has received lots of praise as criticism, especially regarding the introduction of the double-track system which makes it possible for the management of the huge number of students by dividing the students into halves so that when one half is in school, the other half will be home.
