Former President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has extended his condolences to the people of Namibia on the passing of their founding president, Dr. Sam Nujoma.
In a social media post, the former president stated, "The late First President of Namibia will continue to be celebrated for his heroic leadership of the Namibian people, not only in the fight for independence from colonial rule but also in laying the foundation for a secure, prosperous, and democratic nation."
His full post read, "I am deeply saddened by the passing of H.E. Dr. Sam Nujoma, Founding President of the Republic of Namibia and one of the heroes of African liberation.
The late First President of Namibia will continue to be celebrated for his heroic leadership of the Namibian people, not only in the fight for independence from colonial rule but also in laying the foundation for a secure, prosperous, and democratic nation.
"I join the many Africans and others around the world in conveying my condolences to President Nangolo Mbumba, the people of Namibia, his widow, children, and the leadership of his SWAPO party."
This marks the former president’s first post since leaving office following the 2024 elections.
