Former Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Joseph Yamin has accused president Akufo Addo of turning himself into the spokesperson for the violent youth group of the ruling New Patriotic Party that calls itself as ”NPP Delta Forces.”
According to Joseph Yamin, instead of taking steps to ensure the group is dealt with according to the law for unleashing violence on public officers and judges, the president in his public utterances rather sought to ”massage the issue.”
Yammin, who is also a former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister and Deputy Operations Coordinator for the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), alleges, the president is afraid to condemn the Delta Forces because he is a direct beneficiary of the group’s violent activities.
The aspiring Ashanti Regional Chairman of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress was speaking in an interview with abusuafmonline.com on the president’s media encounter in Accra yesterday.
”Akufo Addo is now the PRO of the Delta Force…that’s why he failed to talk about their issue during yesterday’s media encounter,” he said.
“You are a journalist and you followed the event, at what point did the president condemn the criminals in NPP,” he asked.
“He can’t condemn them because he is the biggest beneficiary of their criminal activities and I am disappointed in him…he is a lawyer and for the very first in our history, a court that is in session was violently attacked by these NPP criminals and they are still walking freely, in fact, I am told the Flagstaff House hired a lawyer to defend them.”
“I am daring the president if he is indeed a man and believes in rule of law as he is boasting, let him prosecute the delta force criminals and we will begin to take him seriously, until then I insist that he is their PRO,” Yammin charged.
