Akufo-Addo is committed to fighting corruption - PC Appiah Ofori

President Akufo-Addo President Akufo-Addo

Anti-corruption campaigner, Paul Collins Appiah Ofori, has disclosed that he has confidence in the Akufo-Addo administration to deal with corruption in the country.

His comments come on the back of series of allegations recently levelled against some appointees of the ruling government including, the Trade and Industry Minister, Alan Kyeremateng and two Chiefs of Staff, Asenso Boakye and Samuel Abu Jinapor.

But speaking on the Morning Xpress on Wednesday, the former MP for Asikuma-Odoben Brakwa, reiterated his faith in the president and said he was sure President Akufo-Addo would deal drastically with any government official who would be found in a corruptible act.

He hinted the corruption fight from the late Prof. Mills' government till present has not been impressing, but was sure the NPP government in its first term would tackle the canker head on.

"No one from the mills time till present has been able to fight corruption," he stressed and pointed out that it happened so because of the government's weak commitment to punish culprits in relation to corrupt acts.

Mr Ofori was optimistic the setting up of the special prosecutor's office to investigate and deal with officials who would be corruptible would go a long way to deal with the bad act.
