Akufo-Addo: I don't need to spill blood to win elections

Nana Akufo-Addo says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) does not need to engage in bloodshed before being declared winners of the impending general elections in December.

Consequently, the flag bearer of the NPP has urged security agencies to exercise maximum restraint in the discharge of their duties during, before and after the elections, to ensure credible polls.

“I don’t think Spilling of a single drop of a Ghanaian blood is worth of my victory, but at the same time the security agencies should not act as agents of any party and ensure a lasting peace before and after the elections”, Nana Akufo-Addo submitted.

Nana Akufo-Addo said this when addressing some party faithful in his private residence in Accra on Thursday.

“As agents of the Ghanaian people and of the Ghanaian state, it is important they (referring to security agencies) ensure that the existing peace and tranquility is maintained”, the NPP flag bearer advised.

It was in this direction that he urged the rank and file of the NPP to work assiduously to ensure the party is voted into office in December.
