Akuffo-Addo Sees Tsatsu's "Ghost"

Revealers, who were sharing in the joy of Mrs. Awoonor, wife of lawyer Ekow Awoonor, were stunned beyond belief when Nana Akuffo Addo, the NPP Attorney General and Minister of Justice disappeared from the party after Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata entered the residence of the couple at Labone. The occasion was the 50th birthday celebration of Mrs. Awoonor. The disappearance of the Attorney General was as if he had seen Tsatsu’s ghost.

Invitation was extended to a cross-section of the society especially those with family ties and friends. Mr. Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, Captain Kojo Tsikata alias ‘Gbagblaza’ and other prominent citizens of the land were also in attendance.

As usual of such occasions, the invites and the couple took to the dancing floor in a bid to undo one another. Akuffo Addo, Jake, Gbagblada and a host of invited men and women were doing the rock-n-roll when Tsatsu appeared on the scene. Eyewitnesses said the legal genius received a standing ovation from the dancing floor on his entry.

Few minutes after Tsatsu entered, Nana Addo disappeared. People thought he receded into one of the rooms to attend to an important call. As seconds ticked by and translated into minutes, it became clear that the Attorney General had taken to his heels at the sight of his friend Tsatsu. An invitee to the party, who witnessed the melodrama expressed her surprise at the behaviour of Akuffo Addo.

According to her, the birthday party of Mrs. Awoonor had nothing to do with politics or the legal tussle between the A-G and Tsatsu. She prayed that the recent legal issues would not bring a wedge between old friends whose personal relationship need not be affected by matters of national importance.
