The winner of the J. B. Dankwah Eastern Corporate Leadership Personality of the year 2018 stressed that “poverty should be eliminated from Asuogyaman District in the next 10 years to come as Asuogyaman is about to produce the best graduates to manage the affairs of the state and other well-established organizations in the country Ghana and beyond”.

Mr. Paul Asare Ansah who in 1988 originated the idea leading to the establishment of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND) further added that “my office has been able to train over 500 women in this District (Asuogyaman) in alternative livelihood empowerment skills in various modules. These are the baking of bread and pastries, beads making, batik making, soap and detergent production as well as make-up and decorations”.

He again observed that some 47 young people from Asuogyaman have been gainfully employed in various public and private sector organizations through his positive influence since 2016.

“He sponsored the mock exams for the 2018 BECE candidates in the District, organised vacation classes for all 1732 candidates who wrote the exams in the District, paying teachers in Asuogyaman to teach the candidates for three weeks before their main examination.

“He again bought all examination materials for the then-candidates ranging from Mathematical set, pens and rulers, provision of transport allowance for pupils who needed to commute to the exams centres and also buying all items on prospectus for 15 students in public school who scored aggregate Six to ten in the 2018 BECE exams after providing each of them with Ghc 300.00 as ‘chop money’ before leaving for their various Senior High Schools.
