Akim Manso Constructs Drainage System

Akim Manso,(e/r) The people of Akim Manso a farming community in the Birim South district are constructing a drainage system along the street in the town. Oberempong Sintim-Poku the third, chief of the town made this known to newsmen when he led the project committee members to assess the cost of materials needed to complete the half a mile drainage system. Oberempong Sintim-Poku said it will require about 250 bags of cement, 10 trips of sand and 20 trips of gravel to complete the work, adding that, 'this will be supported by communal labour.' He said about 3.5 million cedis will be needed to complete the project and that the people will be paying 2,000 cedis a man and 1,000 cedis a woman towards it. Oberempong Sintim-Poku appealed to the Ghana Highway Authority to assist them with technical men to complete the project.
