Akim Asene Pentecost Elder builds mosque

Mr. Frank Nkansah, Presiding Elder at Akim Asene Pentecost Church - Central Assembly, has called on Christians to exhibit inter-religious dialogue to facilitate peace worldwide.

He made the call when he handed over a mosque he built for Muslims at Akim Oda Lorry Park in the Birim Central Municipality.

Mr. Nkansah, who is also the Managing Director of F. Nkansah Company Limited, told Ghana News Agency that the gesture is to promote unity among Christians and Muslims.

He asked Ghanaians not to discriminate against anyone on the basis of religion for God is never pleased with human judgment.

Mr. Adamu Amidu, Deputy Imam for Akim Oda, Old Town Mosque, expressed gratitude for the gesture, adding: 'Mr Nkansah's attitude is exceptional.'

'Muslims are there for all and they will do their best to eschew sectarian attitude and promote brotherly communication with Christians," he said.

This exemplary and rare gesture comes at a time when tensions appear to be heightening between Christians and Muslims in Ghana over perceived religious discrimination particularly against Muslims in schools and other public places of work.
