Ajumako-Techiman Farmers Cry Foul

Leaders of a farming group at Ajumako-Techiman in the Central Region have protested against unfair treatment being meted out to them by the government.

According to them, they had been deceived by the Central Regional Co-ordinating Council that they would be granted loans to expand their farms.

The group claimed that an association known as National Rahaman Farmers Association (NRFA) in September announced government’s plans to grant loans to them in the area to expand their farms.

They were asked to apply for the loan through the association, when each farmer was made to pay a registration fee of ?30,000 to enable each of them to be granted ?2million.

According to them, the loan had not yet come and warned that, if nothing was done to grant the said loan to the association, they would advice themselves in the next elections.
