Airbus Bribery Scandal: Don’t humiliate and disrespect Mahama – Irbad begs

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Irbard Security Consult, Alhaji Irbard Ibrahim has cautioned against subjecting former President John Mahama to humiliation and disrespect as the state seeks to investigate his alleged involvement in the Airbus Bribery Scandal.

For him summoning a former President before the Special Prosecutor will be disrespectful given that the Office of the Special Prosecutor has been tasked by President Akufo-Addo to investigate the Airbus scandal and unveil persons who were involved in it.

“I feel transparency is important. But I also feel it will be disrespectful to summon a whole Former President and a respected one at that...”, he wrote in a post sighted by MyNewsGh.com.

The eloquent analyst argues that it will set a bad precedent if a former President gets humiliated, appealing for much restraint as the state proceeds with investigations.

“As the State intends to do its own inquiry into the Airbus issue, let’s exercise restraint and caution and not set bad precedent that will see former Commanders-in-Chief humiliated through whatever means after their priceless service to this great nation. I humbly urge caution on all sides,” he opined.

The Airbus scandal began on 31st January 2020 after the Airbus SE confessed in a Crown Court that it had a network of secret agents that induced officials of governments in various countries to seal deals with it. It mentions Ghana which bought some three aircraft from the company between 2009 and 2015.
