Agorve Residents Receive Free Health Screening

Residents of Agorve, a village in the Ketu North District of the Volta Region have received free health screening and kind donation of items worth over GH¢2,000 from Quik Medical Consult.

The organization made up of young Ghanaian medical practitioners from various hospitals in Accra schooled residents on Ebola as well as offered them free medical consultation. The residents were also screened for hypertension.

About 100 adults were screened with 70 children enrolled onto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) as part of the Easter Friday program.

Mr. Benson Owusu, CEO of Quik Medical Consult and leader of the volunteer group noted that heart problems and anaemia were the main ailments diagnosed by the team.

According to him, the group intends to sign about 1000 kids onto the NHIS on their next outreach program.

Chief of the village in an interaction with the medical team after the gesture expressed profound gratitude for their time and free healthcare service.

He further appealed to the team to make their visit regular with more medical supplies to assist residents access quality healthcare right at their doorsteps and at very little cost.

Quik Medical Consult has over the years organized free health screening and education for various rural communities in Ghana with the cost of travel, equipment and drugs borne by the group and some benevolent individuals.
