Agona West Assembly approves supplementary budget

Agona Swedru, May 17 , GNA - The Agona West Municipal Assembly has approved the 2010 Common Fund supplementary budget of 1, 993, 011.25 Ghana cedis. Mr Ebo Mensah, Agona West Municipal Finance Officer who presented the statement to the house, said the budget would be linked to the tenets of the Medium Term National Development policy framework for 2010-2013. He said the assembly would give priority to all uncompleted projects before starting new projects.

Mr Mensah said the assembly had budgeted 15,000.00 Ghana cedis for rural electrification and streets lights in the municipality and 9,000.00 Ghana cedis has been earmarked for the completion of pavement works and provision of toilet facilities of Agona Nyakrom Market. Mr Felix Jacob Obeng-Forson, Agona West Municipal Chief Executive, said to ease traffic congestion in the Municipality, some roads would be constructed and the Assembly has budgeted 12,000.00 Ghana cedis for that project. He said the roads include Greenland-Mahodwe-Otabilkrom, Dasunim-Nkumbem, Nkubem-Happy Junior High School, Kwaman-Nyakrom-Nkum, Lower and Upper Bobikuma.
