Afoko, Agyepong summoned over alleged plot to kill MP

The Goaso Magistrate Court in the Brong Ahafo Region has summoned New Patriotic Party Chairman Paul Afoko and the General Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, over their involvement in an alleged plot to kill Asunafo North Member of Parliament, Robert Safo Kantanka.

The court order followed the claim by a suspect, Abubakar Wahab, a farmer, who is standing trial for allegedly plotting to kill the MP that, the two party leaders were aware of his activities and even promised him an amount of Ghc4, 000 if he succeeded in making the incumbent MP lose his seat in the party’s primaries slated for Saturday, June 13, 2015.

Wahab reportedly told the court presided over by Justice Kwaku Twumasi that he was initially given Ghc150 to embark on the assignment.

According to Nana Poku Piesie of Moonlite FM, the judge ordered the prosecution to produce the two NPP executives to come and react to the allegation in court.

When contacted, the Special Assistant to Kwabena Agyapong , Davis OPoku Ansah told Atinka News that the claims are pure lies and that his boss will respond to the allegations at the appropriate time.
