The suspect’s accomplice Abubakari Mohammed, 28, also a cattle herder from Ashaiman near Tema is however in the grips of the police aiding in investigations.

Mr Eric Vondee, Aflao District Crime Officer, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that at about 20:30 hours on December, 29 last year, the suspect, now on the run, and Mohammed purchased alcoholic beverages at a bar at Torkor in Aflao.

He said the bar owner turned down the CFA 5000 note the suspects offered in payment of the drinks demanding that payment was made in cedis note only.

The two, Mr Vondee said, then went out under the guise of changing the CFA note into cedi notes.

They returned shortly after and pulled a shotgun at the victim Harriet Lartey, pushed her down, and ordered her to surrender proceeds of her sales.

The victim raised the alarm attracting neighbours who pursued the two, overpowered Mohammed but the unidentified suspect managed to escape with the gun.
