The Adwoa Safo Foundation has donated assorted food and household items to the Hopeway Ministries Orphanage as part of its annual Christmas support initiative.

The donation included 15 cartons of malt drinks, three cartons of Milo, three cartons of Ideal Milk, five bags of rice, 12 packets of biscuits, six packs of toilet rolls, 30 bags of sachet water, and 10 packets of plantain chips.

Presenting the items, the founder of the Adwoa Safo Foundation and former Member of Parliament for the Dome/Kwabenya Constituency, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo, explained that the gesture forms part of the foundation’s yearly Christmas outreach programme, aimed at supporting and uplifting the children of the orphanage during the festive season.

She disclosed that this year’s donation was delayed due to a personal bereavement following the passing of her father, Apostle Kwadwo Safo. Despite the setback, Hon. Adwoa Safo reaffirmed her commitment to the orphanage and encouraged the children to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to their education, stressing the importance of taking their studies seriously.

Adwoa Safo further highlighted that the Adwoa Safo Foundation (ASF) undertakes several programmes annually, including the Orphanage Donation Initiative, the ASF Pad a Child Programme, the ASF Leadership and Mentoring Programme, and the ASF Educational Material Support Programme. These initiatives, she noted, are aimed at empowering vulnerable groups while promoting education and leadership development.

On his part, the Director of Hopeway Ministries, Rev. Randolph Ashley, expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Adwoa Safo for her consistent support. He said the former MP has always honoured her commitment to the orphanage and has never failed to support the home.

Rev. Ashley also appealed to the general public to support the orphanage, revealing that the home is currently constructing a library to enhance the learning experience of the children. He called for assistance to help complete the project and further appealed for donations of items such as dustbins to improve sanitation at the facility.

Hopeway Ministries Orphanage currently caters for about 30 children, comprising the needy, persons living with disabilities, and vulnerable children from surrounding communities who visit the home daily for meals.
