Ada West DCE admonishes teachers about relationships with female students
The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Ada West District in the Greater Accra Region, Honourable Jerry John Foreigner Mills Nkrumah, has urged the staff of Ada Senior High Technical School (ASTECH) to preserve the integrity of the teaching profession by maintaining a professional relationship with the female students.

The DCE has leveraged on the recent sanction meted out by the Ghana Education Service (GES), dismissing teachers who were exposed in various videos engaging in intimacy with some female students.

A few weeks after the completion of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), the internet is inundated with videos showing certain headmasters of senior high schools in the country engaging in intimate relationships with the students they oversee.

In addressing the school's staff, dignitaries from the KGL Foundation, and students during the ceremony for the installation of two mechanized boreholes provided by the KGL Foundation on October 3, 2025, he remarked that this action is negatively impacting the teaching profession.

“Let me take this opportunity to caution my fellow teachers about the happenings of late news all over about the amorous relationships some teachers and students are getting into. It does not speak well of a noble profession,” the DCE cautioned.

He has also admonished the female students to demonstrate moral conduct by avoiding behaviors that could entice the male teachers into wanting an intimate relationship with them.

“I would also like to appeal to our students not to be in the habit of tempting our teachers. They are human beings.”

Jerry John Foreigner Mills Nkrumah served as a tutor at the Ada Senior High Technical School before he was appointed the District Chief Executive of the Ada West Assembly on 13 May 2025.

Jerry John Foreigner Mills Nkrumah's confirmation this year also ensured him as the second District Chief Executive from the school staff, following Honourable Samuel Tetteh Kpankpah.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted the assistant headmaster of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Senior High School following the release of a sex video involving him and a female student.
