Power supply to parts of Accra and other areas of the country will be cut today Wednesday, May 18, following a load management program announced by the Ghana Grid company.
According to a statement by GRIDCo, about 300 megawatts will be shed in Accra and its environs. The statement was however silent on when power will be restored.
The statement said Accra is expected to shed 120 MW, Tema 60 MW, Eastern 30MW, Western 50MW, Central 20M and Volta 20MW .
“Following the putting off of Mallam bsp by Gridco this morning at 08:16hrs and the customers being off up till this time, ST2 instructed control to drop some load at the Achimota bsp and the 3rd bsp (Bulk Supply Point) to the tune of 120MW so that Mallam load could be restored".
