Accra bourse remains active

Accra, July 23, GNA - The Accra bourse continued its upward climb in trading on Wednesday with the main market gauge, the GSE All-Share Index, going up by 9.84 points. The index close at 2,60.50 points from the 2,250.66 points registered on the first day of trading this week. The change-in-the year to date was 62.01 per cent. Total shares traded in mid-week trading fixed at 166,100 up from a low of 35,000 on Monday. In the broader market, five equities posted price appreciations with no decliners. Ashanti Goldfields Company (AGC) topped gainers with 50 cedis to close trading higher at 28,650 cedis. Produce Buying Company posted a 45-cedi gain at 600 cedis, SSB Bank gained 11 cedis at 7,318 cedis, while Ghana Commerical Bank made nine cedis to close at 6,811 cedis. Fan Milk Limited made three cedis to finish trading at 2,518 cedis. Market capitalisation ended at 9,138.29 billion cedis against the 9,107.88 billion cedis on Monday.
