The National Ambulance Service (NAS) has outlined how a rapid, coordinated emergency response enabled the evacuation and treatment of victims following the collapse of Accra New Town DA Experimental School on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
In a post shared on its Facebook page on Monday, March 30, 2026, it noted that following reports of the incident, ambulances and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) were swiftly deployed to the scene.
"Following initial reports of multiple persons trapped, NAS swiftly deployed ambulances and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) to the scene to support rescue and prehospital care efforts.

"Additional resources were subsequently mobilised to reinforce ongoing operations. Through a coordinated multi-agency response, a total of 20 casualties have been successfully evacuated from the scene and transported to nearby health facilities for further medical attention," it stated.
According to the NAS, patients were distributed across key facilities as follows:
37 Military Hospital – 9 patients Police Hospital – 7 patients Ga North Municipal Hospital – 3 patients University of Ghana Medical Centre – 1 patient.
The NAS said, "Emergency teams remain actively engaged at the scene, working closely with partner agencies to support rescue efforts and account for all affected persons."
It further reaffirmed its commitment to timely emergency care.
