Accra, Jan. 17, GNA - For Mr. Ernest Tutu Mensah, it was like a

dream when working on his farm, he received a call from Millicom Ghana Limited, operators of Tigo mobile telecommunications network announcing him the grand winner of its "Top Up and Win" promotion. Little did Mr Tutu Mensah know that the few top-ups or reloads he was doing in December last year could earn him a sleek Suzuki Grand Vitara 2008 model vehicle which was the grand prize of the promotion. Millicom Ghana Limited, at a brief but impressive ceremony in Accra on Friday night presented the keys and documents to the car to the 50 year-old Sunyani based livestock farmer flanked by his wife and some family members amidst dancing and jubilation.

Ipods were also presented to 500 out of the over 2,000,000 subscribers of the network who took part in the promotion. In a comment, Mr. Tutu Mensah said, "I was not at all expecting this surprise from Tigo, indeed my new year has started very well and I have to say thank you to Tigo for allowing me and my family such a wonderful chance to be happy".

He said he used and relied on Tigo mobile network because of its clarity and availability in all parts of the country. He said his feat would convince others to subscribe to the network for better services and returns.

Meanwhile, Tigo has again launched a similar promotion to give away another car as a way of showing its sensitivity and commitment to sharing good things in business to customers. Qualification for the promotion is that each pre-paid subscriber who recharges with GH¢1.00 between January and February of this year, will be automatically entered into the draw to win prizes ranging from free SMS, free call credits, Ipods and a Suzuki Grand Vitara, which is the grand prize.

Ms Anita Erskine, Corporate Affairs Manager of Millicom Ghana Limited, who announced the package said it aimed at offering subscribers opportunities to be expressive and vibrant through voice calls and/or text messages as well as win prizes.
