A Monday dawn accident involving three vehicles on the Suhum stretch of the Kumasi-Accra highway has claimed three lives and left one other with serious injuries.
A Hyundai mini bus with registration WR 2472-13, which was travelling from Accra to Suhum veered off its lane and crashed a trailer with registered GR 9892-12, killing the three persons instantly, Onua FM’s correspondent, Benjamin Frimpong reported.
The fourth person on the bus, however, escaped death but sustained injuries and has since been rushed to the Suhum Government Hospital.
Another Hyundai, registered ER 492 -10, also crashed the first one Hyundai and landed on its side, our correspondent reported.
Driver of the Hyundai bus which caused the accident was believed to be sleeping.
According to the driver of the tipper truck, who gave his name as Sarfo, on reaching the Top Oil Fuel Station at about 3:15am, he realized the first Hyundai mini bus had veered off its lane and coming towards him.
He said though he gave way to the Hyundai by moving towards the shoulder of the road on his side, the mini bus driver still crashed into his truck.
The entire front section of the first Hyundai was mangled.
Meanwhile, bodies of the deceased have been deposited Suhum Government Hospital morgue of the same hospital.
