There have been reports of heavy traffic on the Asiakwa Junction to Linda D’or stretch of the Accra Kumasi road.

The reported traffic build-up is as a result of an accident between two trucks around Linda D’or.

According to an eye witness, who spoke to Ghanaweb, the accident occurred around 11:30 pm last night.

“Both cars were headed towards Accra, one was loaded with plantain and the other was loaded with pipes. You could tell the driver of the plantain truck was sleepy so he bumped into an articulator truck in front of him and that caused him to lose control of the truck, which resulted in his car overturning.”

The eyewitness speaking to GhanaWeb.com mentioned that personnel of the Ghana Police Service were quick to respond to the scene to control the traffic along the stretch.

He added that even though the personnel from the police have been able to ensure the removal of the articulator truck, the second truck loaded with plantain which had most of its goods pouring on the road is yet to be taken off the road.

The situation is said to have caused a very slow movement of vehicles resulting in a frustrating situation for drivers and commuters on the Accra Kumasi road.

There are no reports of deaths at the time of filing this story.
