Abronye praises Sammy Gyamfi's performance at GoldBod

Abronye has praised Sammy Gyamfi for exceptional performance

The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye, has commended Sammy Gyamfi for what he described as an exceptional performance as Chief Executive Officer of GoldBod.

In a viral video shared on X, Abronye said Gyamfi had successfully transformed the institution through effective branding and policy reforms.

He explained that the decision to rebrand the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC) to GoldBod was a strategic move that boosted the visibility and attractiveness of the organisation to investors.

According to Abronye, the former name of the company did not resonate strongly with investors, but the focus on gold, one of the most widely traded and trusted investment minerals has helped draw increased interest.

“This is good marketing, because when it was Precious Minerals, we didn’t have lots of investors like we do now,” he said.

The Precious Minerals Marketing Company was established during the administration of former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

Abronye noted that under Gyamfi’s leadership, the institution has seen improved standards and the introduction of new regulatory frameworks to govern its operations.

He further acknowledged that although some critics initially argued that Gyamfi deserved better position, his tenure has proven otherwise.

Abronye said the GoldBod CEO had raised the profile of the office and strengthened its relevance within the mineral marketing sector.

“So, if we want someone who has really worked and raised the standards of the office despite being insulted, it is Sammy Gyamfi. The truth must be told he has done tremendously well,” Abronye stated.
