The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, held an important meeting with Her Excellency Berenice Owen-Jones, the Australian High Commissioner to Ghana, on July 15, 2025.

The meeting was aimed at strengthening bilateral ties in the ongoing dialogue between Ghana and Australia.

During the discussions, both parties emphasised the renewed momentum in Ghana-Australia relations and expressed a shared commitment to accelerating progress and expanding cooperation across various sectors.

Key among the issues discussed was the deepening of their partnership in areas such as mining lithium, and green transition initiatives.



Additionally, the talks highlighted the importance of collaborating on agricultural research and scholarship programs, which are essential to promoting sustainable development and educational opportunities.

"A fantastic engagement with Australian High Commissioner to Ghana, Her Excellency Berenice Owen-Jones. We underscored the renewed momentum of Ghana-Australia bilateral relations and committed to accelerating our gains," a post by Ablakwa on X dated July 15, 2025, stated.

"Both countries are determined to expand ongoing cooperation in mining lithium, green transition, agricultural research, and scholarships," he added.

This meeting forms part of efforts to strengthen the relationship between both nations to explore new avenues for mutual growth and collaboration.
