AFAG informs public of its impending demonstration

Accra, Jan. 22, GNA – The Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) has said it is aware that some people sympathetic to Mr Alfred Woyome are organizing and arming themselves to create confusion on the day of their ‘ATTA WAYO DEMONSTRATION’.

It said the act is an effort to derail the focus of AFAG from throwing more light on the corrupt deeds of the NDC government. The statement said it concedes that it is within the right of every Ghanaian to protest but it is fully prepared for the occasion and will not hesitate to smoke out any imposter who sets out to foment trouble.

It however assured genuine demonstrators of their safety and security through their internal security measures to complement that of the Police Force.

The statement said AFAG has duly notified the police and has accordingly concluded all arrangements necessary to embark on a demonstration and entreated any group of persons including sympathizers of Mr Woyome to follow due process.

The statement said AFAG wishes to extend an invitation to the TUC, GPRTU, PROTOA, Petty Traders Association, Dress Makers Association, the Fisher Folks, Student Bodies and all Labor Unions gravely affected by the gross mismanagement and ‘killer’ policies of the Mills-Mahama government to come in their numbers to demonstrate against such policies.

It said AFAG members will converge at the Obra Spot at 6:00am on Wednesday in their Red and Black Shirts, to press home their demands for better living conditions.
