The Oti Regional Minister, John Kwadwo Gyapong, has disclosed that six people, including three children, have been killed in recent attacks in Nkwanta South.

According to a report by myjoyonline.com on Friday, March 27, 2026, Gyapong said his investigations indicated that assailants are hiding in bushes and targeting residents in farms and remote areas.

“A recent incident is when a young boy, taking his father’s cattle out for grazing, was found dead in the bush,” the report said.

According to Gyapong, the pattern of the killings suggests a deliberate attempt by certain groups to assert control over land and prevent others from accessing it.

The violence, he noted, has heightened fear among residents.

Describing the situation as deeply concerning, the minister called for urgent action to restore peace and protect local communities.
