The head of a 5-year old boy has been severed off his body in an accident at Asuoyeboa-Nyankyerenease, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
The urvan mini bus with registration number GT 3021-09 hit the boy while he was crossing the road after Monday morning’s heavy downpour.
The deceased who was in the company of his siblings took the lead after they had bought breakfast by the road side.
Ultimate News’ Eno Safo reports on Ultimate Breakfast Show that he refused to heed to the advice of his siblings not to cross the road on his own, only to be knocked down by the car chopping off his head into a nearby gutter.
The wailing of the boy’s mother and grandmother attracted huge crowd to the scene.
‘The mother is here crying uncontrollably and some of the crowd are still in shock,’ she explained.
The car later ran into a ditch, the driver sensing danger, got out of the car and took to his heels.
An eyewitness, gathered courage to take the severed head out of the gutter and covered it with plantain leaves.
As at the time of filing the report, the police had not arrived since the accident happened over an hour.
The decapitated head of the boy was later found after a search by some volunteered team.
