A 47-year-old palm wine tapper known as Kwaku Abba has callously taken the life of his 6 year old son in Diabenekrom a suburb of the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis.

The act occurred on Friday 19th July whiles the accused and his kids were heading to their farm.

According to an eyewitness who narrated the story to ghanaguardian.com, the 47-year-old farmer and his children were heading to their farm in the wee hours of Friday when the unprovoked palm wine tapper slashed off the head of his 6-year-old son leaving him to die in a pool of blood.

In defense, Kwaku Abba claimed that the machete he was holding which had been well sharpened accidentally left his grasp beheading his 6-year-old in the process.

This flimsy excuse left patrons around wondering whether the accused was mentally stable.

Passerby’s who witnessed the heinous crime quickly rushed to the scene and inflicted heavy beatings on the suspect but was quickly whisked away to the Police station.

Wife of the accused identified as Maame Tweba who was grieving says she is dumbfounded by his husband’s act.

She however blames his husband’s crime on his recent appetite for drinking alcohol excessively.

Meanwhile the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Efia Nkwanta Government Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy while the suspect is behind bars.
