Four basic schools in Walewale in the Northern region have been closed down following a clash between some teachers of the school and encroachers who prevented by the teachers from developing school land.
Our regional correspondent Prince Kwame Tamakloe said the encroachers are currently developing the school lands into chain of stores and other facilities.
The schools include the Walewale JA Primary, A,B and C have been encroached.
According to him, the teachers prevented one of the encroachers who is said to be using the school lands for a chain of stores.
He said the teachers had earlier reported the case to the lands commission and police but no action was taken and so, they decided to protect the lands themselves.
The clash he added did not result in any casualty but the schools have been shutdown.
