The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has queried 25 staff who were locked out on Wednesday, 18 April 2018, for reporting late to work.

The management of the assembly closed the gate to the office at exactly 8:30am in a move to tackle lateness to work on Wednesday.

The Public Relations Officer of the AMA, Mr Gilbert Nii Ankrah said the move is to ensure productivity at the work place.

He explained to Accra-based Citi FM that: “They [late comers] were locked out and asked to go home and come the following day for their query letters to respond to why they came in late. Currently those whose names appeared on this very list will be suspended and the assembly will look at what to do in our next exercise.

He added that: “They’ll be suspended for a period being set by management. Actually as I’m speaking to you, some have received their query letters and they are expected to respond to the query before any action will be taken against them”.
