A 23-year-old palm wine tapper identified as Prince, popularly known as “On God,” has been apprehended by the Ghana Police Service.

In a post shared by Sika Official on X on March 13, 2026, the suspect was reported to have been arrested at Subrin-Nkwanta in the Western North Region for allegedly setting the home of his 19-year-old ex-girlfriend ablaze.

According to the report, the fire claimed the lives of the young woman, her mother, Mary Oppong (61), and her sister, Dora Adomah Cudjoe (22).

The report further indicated that Prince allegedly set the house on fire in retaliation for the family’s opposition to his relationship with the 19-year-old.

“A 23-year-old palm wine tapper has been arrested at Subrin-Nkwanta in the Western North Region for allegedly setting the home of his 19-year-old ex-girlfriend ablaze, an act that claimed the lives of the young woman, her mother, Mary Oppong (61), and her sister, Dora Adomah Cudjoe (22).

“The suspect, identified as Prince, also known as ‘On God,’ is alleged to have carried out the attack in retaliation for the family’s opposition to the relationship,” the post noted.
