2024 Ghana West Africa Business Excellence Awards: 60 companies and individuals honoured

The 7th edition of the Ghana - West Africa Business Excellence Awards, orchestrated by KN Unique Communications and endorsed by the West Africa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has celebrated the achievements of preeminent companies and individuals from diverse business sectors across Ghana and other West African nations.

This esteemed awards ceremony serves as a platform to acknowledge those who have significantly contributed to the growth of the business sector over time.

It also champions the pursuit of excellence in innovation, enterprise, and endeavor, rewarding those innovative ideas that have expanded the horizons of possibility.

Dignitaries gracing the event in Accra included Mr. Mark Badu–Aboagye, CEO of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Philippine Consulate to Ghana, Ms. Maricel Villanueva Wu, and Lebanese Ambassador to Ghana, H.E Maher Kheir.

In his keynote address, Mr. Mark Badu–Aboagye congratulated the awardees and reassured entrepreneurs that the GNCCI is committed to fostering an environment conducive to business prosperity in Ghana.

He emphasized the importance for businesses to integrate into the global digital economy and to establish a presence on the international stage.

H.E Maher Kheir, in his speech, encouraged businesses and entrepreneurs to remain steadfast and inventive, especially during challenging times, and to possess the determination to progress.

He extended his congratulations to both the nominees and the recipients of the awards.

The ceremony's objective was to honor the distinguished achievements of individuals and companies in the sector for the year in review. The pinnacle awards were bestowed upon Dr. Nick Danso Adjei as Entrepreneur of the Year, Catherine Wesley (Country Manager) of Emirates Airline Ghana as Business Leader of the Year (Airline), and Mr. Samuel Kofi Ahiave Dzamesi (CEO, Bui Power Authority) as Business Leader of the Year (Energy).

Other notable winners included Acacia Health Insurance as Brand of The Year (Health Insurance); Infinix Ghana as Smartphone Brand of the Year; Accra City Hotel as Innovative Hotel of the Year; Africa World Airlines for the Excellence in HSEQ Award (Aviation); Amenfiman Rural Bank Limited as Rural Bank Brand of the Year; AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine Tarkwa as Mining Company of the Year; BCK Graffiato Paint as Innovative Paint Company of the Year; Bui Power Authority as Renewable Energy Company of Year; Emirates Airline as International Airline Company of the Year; Enterprise Insurance Ghana as Insurance Company of the Year (General); Euracare Hospital as Multi Specialist Hospital of the Year; and Far East Mercantile Company Limited as FMCG Distribution Company of the Year.

Additional winners included First Bank Ghana as Bank of The Year; Frimps Oil Company Limited as Oil Marketing Brand of the Year; Ghana Link Network Services Ltd as Trade Facilitation Company of the Year; Happy Sunshine Co Limited as Food Manufacturing Company of the Year; Imperial Health Sciences Ghana as Logistics Supplier of the Year (Healthcare); Interplast Limited as Plastic Pipes Manufacturer of the Year; iSON Xperiences Ghana Limited as BPO Company of the Year; Jay Kay Industries & Investments Ltd as Paper Manufacturing Company of the Year; Lion Security Services as Security Company of the Year; M&G Pharmaceuticals as Pharmaceutical Company of the Year; Mass Logistics Ghana Limited as Indigenous Customs Brokerage Company of the Year; Mayfair Estates Ltd as Real Estate Developer of the Year (Upper Income); Medimafo Herbal Clinic as Herbal Clinic of the Year; Metropolitan Health Insurance as Health Insurance Company of the Year; Miltrac Ghana Limited as Mining Support Company of the Year; MSC Ghana as Shipping Company of the Year; Nkulenu Industries Ltd as Indigenous Manufacturing Company of the Year; Omega Securities as Security Team of the Year; Ramoth Services Limited as Engineering / Construction Company of the Year; Stellar Travel as Aviation Travel and Tour Company of the Year; Sunda Fm Manufacturing Limited Company as FMCG Manufacturing Company of the Year; Sunon Asogli Power (Ghana) Limited as Power Generation Company of the Year; Sunshine Healthcare Ltd as Medical Diagnostic Company of the Year; Total Petroleum Ghana Plc as Indigenous Oil Marketing Company of the Year; and Triple A Enterprise Limited as Security Packaging Company of the Year.

United Bank of Africa Ghana was recognized as Brand of the Year (Bank); B5 Plus Group as Steel Manufacturing Company of the year; Advans Ghana as Savings and Loans Company of the Year; Atwima Kwanwoma Rural Bank as Rural Bank of the year; Vanguard Assurance as Indigenous Insurance Company of the year; and Sylprin Ghana Limited as Fire Protection Engineering Company of the Year.
