2019 Budget: Government to establish 'Bible Museum' in Ghana - Finance Minister

Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta has pledged President Nana Akufo-Addo's commitment to establish and complete the national Cathedral to foster participatory development of the country.

Delivering the 2019 Budget statement at Parliament, Thursday, the Finance Minister indicated that the National Cathedral will be used as the "first bible museum" for the people of Ghana, particularly Christian believers.

He noted that the Cathedral will inure to the benefit of the economy serving as a "beacon to national, Regional and international spiritual tourists. Mr. Speaker, the State is facilitating this process by providing the land, the Secretariat and some seed money..."

"The President is determined that the building of the national Cathedral will not put undue financial burden on the State. He has therefore proposed a parnership between the State and the Ghanaian Christian community both at home and in the diaspora", he stressed.

Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta further disclosed that there will be a formal launch fund raising on Friday, December 28, 2018 in Ghana and February, 2019 in the United States of America.

"The national Cathedral partnership framework operationalizes and indeed is a practical expression of the social partnership envisioned to foster participatory development of country as our collective goal. This we hope, Mr. Speaker, will be counted as righteousness for the nation".
