2018 AWCON: We are going to monitor our opponents - Bashir Hayford

Head coach of Ghana’s National Women’s team, Bashir Hayford says he will beef up his team with the best of preparation and closely monitor the opponents in his group before the 2018 Total Women’s African Cup of Nations commences in November.

The Black Queens who are seeking to win the trophy for the first time would have to go through Algeria, Mali and Cameroon in Group A in other to be able to make it to the next round of the tournament. Defending champions Nigeria were pitted against South Africa, Kenya and Zambia in Group B.

Speaking in an interview shortly after the draw, the head coach of Black Queens, Bashir Hayford said his technical team would start scouting their opponents very soon.

“Now that we have seen our opponents we are going to monitor them very, prepare for them very well and beat them,” Bashir Hayford told the media.

According to the coach, his team has received the best of preparation by far despite their failure to play an international friendly before the tournament.

The coach also revealed that the female players based in abroad would join the team in camp in the coming days.
