2017 BECE: No examination malpractice recorded – GES

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has described the 2017 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) as very successful and one of the best held in the history of the examination.

The BECE ended today, Friday, June, 9, 2017 after the over four hundred and sixty thousand candidates completed the Junior High School(JHS) level exams that lasted for five days.

The exams conducted by the West African Examination Council(WAEC) gives basic school students their first experience of external assessment and determines the chances for high academic pursuits.

Speaking to the media, the Public Relations Officer of the GES, Rev. Jonathan Bettey said no exams malpractice were recorded this year,adding the exercise turned out perfectly.

“Let’s thank God, because from Monday to today, Friday it has been very successful. I’m believing that the last paper ended without any major hitches here and there. We haven’t recorded any examination malpractices-No report has been recorded.

Rev. Bettey commended key stakeholders – teachers, parents and supervisors for the general discipline observed in this year’s examination.
