20-year-old baby thief Patience Anane busted in Kumasi

Twenty year-old Patience Anane, unemployed is in the grips of the Suame District Police Command in the Ashanti Region for stealing a six-month old baby MyNewsGh.com reporters have confirmed.

The Ashanti Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) ASP Godwin Ahianyo at a media briefing in Kumasi said on Sunday January 13, 2019, the mother of the six-month old baby boy reported to Suame Police Command about a theft of his baby.

According to ASP Godwin Ahianyo, the mother left the child in a care of the suspect (Patience Anane) on the same day at the near racecourse market in Kumasi to wash the baby clothes.

On her return, she found out that that Patience Antwi had been disappeared with the baby and whereabouts unknown to anyone.

Police commenced investigations into the alleged theft case and on January 17, 2019 on Thursday at about 8pm the suspect Patience Anane was arrested in possession of the baby boy at Bantama a suburb of Kwame Danso a town in Brong Ahafo region by two young men.

ASP Godwin Ahianyo explained that the suspect was handed over to the Kwame Danso District Police Command and transferred to Suame District Police Command for continuation of investigation.

The suspect is currently in police custody and the baby has been handed over to the mother under the supervision of police investigator.
