2 more grabbed for Kasoa cop killings

Daily Guide has reported that two out of the alleged three persons who are said to have aided a suspect, Eric Kojo Dua, in the gruesome murder of two police officers at Buduburam near Kasoa in the Central Region were on Monday, October 1, remanded by the Kaneshie District Court in Accra.

The incident which involved other suspects namely Micheal Sarfo and Kwasi Adjei and one other person named Theophilus were alleged to have gone into hiding after two policemen who were on patrol duties on August 28 were murdered during a traffic stop incident.

The suspects have been charged with conspiracy in the murder of Sgt. Micheal Dzamasi, a service driver and Lance Cpl. Awal Mohammed, who were personnel of the Motor Transport and Traffic Department (MTTD) detachment at Kasoa.

The prosecution team led by ASP Sylvester Asare told the court that investigations were still ongoing and asked that the accused suspects be remanded for further investigation.

Rosemond Agyiri, Presiding Magistrate however ruled that the suspects be remanded to reappear before court on October 9, 2019.

Following the unfortunate events, Daily Guide reports that the BNI, last week dropped its charges and discharged some six suspects who were initially arrested on suspicion of the murders.

They were, Issac Amissah, Ibrahim Zakaria, Issac Mensa, Oblitey Commey, Victor Yire and Fatawu Ahmed.

Other events also led to Eric Dua shooting and killing both officers who have since been laid to rest. Dua was said to be on the run after the incident occurred and was later arrested on the Senchi Bridge on August 31 in the Eastern Region.
