2 killed, others injured by Fulani herdsmen at Geduako

Two farmers have been killed with four others in critical condition by suspected Fulani herdsmen at Geduako near Drobonso in the Sekyere Afram Plains District of the Ashanti Region.

The two men, abusuafmonline.com understands were gunned down by the suspected herdsmen while on their way to farm on Wednesday January 24.

The gory incident has thrown residents in the community into a state of shock.

Portia Boakye Yiadom, President of Concerned Citizens of Sekyere Afram Plains, in a brief interview with Abusua FM said that the Fulani Herdsmen have intensified their killing spree despite recent public outcry against their uncalled-for activities in the area.

According to her, farmers in Sekyere Afram Plains District have consistently been harassed by the nomadics and therefore wants government and all security agencies to as a matter of urgency come to their aid.

”We the residents especially farmers find it difficult to go to our farms because of the activities of the herdsmen”.

”The situation is really worrisome and affecting business activities here. We are appealing to government to help clamp down Fulani herdsmen in the Sekyere Afram Plains District to enable us enjoy peace”.

It would be recalled that the savagery of the Fulani herdsmen has of late become the talk of the day due to their belligerence and hostile attitude towards some Ghanaian communities as a result of which many innocent souls including some security officers have lost their lives in their bid to stop them .
