Nineteen people have sustained various degrees of injuries in a road accident that occurred at Awutu Bonsuoku on the Gomoa Ojobi–Senya Bereku Road in the Central Region.

The crash, which happened around 4:00 AM on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, involved two Mercedes-Benz Sprinter buses with registration numbers AC-804-16 and GR 5137-18.

According to a report by adomonline.com, four of the victims are in critical conditions and are receiving intensive medical care.

An eyewitness, Kennedy Awuah, said residents were alerted by a loud noise from the road and rushed to the scene.

“We rushed to the scene and saw that the two Sprinter buses had collided head-on. Many of the passengers were badly injured,” he recounted.

One of the injured passengers, Ebenezer Eshun, who is receiving treatment at the Hope Christian Hospital in Gomoa Fetteh, said the driver heading from Kasoa to Senya Bereku appeared to have dozed off at the wheel.

Emergency services responded promptly, transporting the injured to nearby health facilities.

Meanwhile, authorities have launched investigations to determine the exact cause of the accident.
