17-year-old stabbed over GHC20 debt

Kofi Asiedu, 35, a resident of Pakyi in Kumasi has allegedly stabbed a friend in the stomach with a broken bottle. The incident occurred in the area over the weekend.

Narrating the incident to Nyakonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, our reporter, Sir Fresh said, the victim, Dankwa, 17, was stabbed in the stomach following a scuffle between him and Kofi Asiedu.

He [Dankwa] had gone to Asiedu’s house to demand for payment for roofing sheets he sold to Asiedu to roof his building.

The confrontation between the two later turned sour leading to the unfortunate incident, the victim’s sister, Akosua narrated.

Akosua further disclosed that the two were separated in a fight but they later exchanged blows in a second fight, which resulted in the stabbing of Dankwa.

Akosua told Sir Fresh the suspect claimed the victim owed him GHc20 and ‘’so I was expecting him to deduct the GHc20 from the cost of the roofing sheets.

He had no business fighting him.’’ According to the sister, his brother has been admitted at the emergency ward of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. The suspect, a driver and physically challenged is currently on the run.
