Residents of Efiakuma in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region have been thrown into shock after a 16-year-old boy left home without notice, leaving behind a heartbreaking note in which he accused his parents of not loving him.
According to a report by 3news.com, the incident occurred on Sunday, September 7, 2025, while the family was at church.

His mother explained that her son had declined to attend service with them, only for them to return home and discover his absence along with a handwritten letter detailing his decision to leave.
“He was supposed to go with us to church, but he refused. When we returned, we found he was gone. He left a note saying we don’t love him, but we love him so much. We are pleading with the public to help us find him. We want him to come back home,” she stated.

The note, written by the teenager and addressed to his parents, read:
“Daddy, Mummy, I really love you and appreciate you for what you have done for me. But you don’t love me. I cannot stay with you anymore, and I’m leaving this letter behind because I want you to know that I have left home. I’m not lost, so don’t look for me, and I will never return. God will take care of me, so I’m saying goodbye to you all. Thank you. This is me, Emma.”
The letter has left the family distressed, with his mother insisting they love their son deeply and continuing to plead for his safe return.
The case has been reported to the police, who are working to trace the teenager’s whereabouts, while the family continues to appeal to the general public for support, the report noted.
