16 Legon students sacked...Over forged documents

The Daily Graphic in its lead story, reports that 16 students of the University of Ghana, Legon, have been dismissed for forging admission particulars.

The paper says they are mostly Social Studies and Arts students. The paper says that out of the number, 14 are GCE "A" level holders while the two others entered the university with senior secondary school certificate examination (SSSCE) grades.

The Graphic says a statement signed by Mr P.B. Yarquah, Senior Assistant Registrar of the university and issued in Accra yesterday, gave the names of the 14 "A" level students as Wilfred Kwesi Nyarkoh, Christina Lawrings Odzor, Joseph Kofi Arthur and Emmanuel Adumoah-Bossman, all of the Commonwealth Hall.

The others are Rebecca Pomaah, A. Nashiru Mohammed, Victoria Gyann and Abdul-Rauff Manshie Bawa, of the Legon Hall. The rest are Kofi Anokye Wilson of the Akuafo Hall, Bushera Ali Iddris, Volta Hall, Redeemer Kporvie King, Fatawu Mohamed and Irene Kumbea Amoh.The culprits are said to have falsified their grades in order to meet the entry requirements.
