The Tema Regional Police Command on Wednesday, 28 March 2018 arrested 15 people including one woman at a slum in community 1 after a swoop.

The area known as community 5000 is believed to be a hideout for criminals and drug peddlers.

The operation which started at 2.00pm was led by the Deputy Regional Commander DCOP Kwaku Boadu Peprah.

The swoop was aimed at getting rid of miscreants and hoodlums who deal in narcotics and other illegal activities in the community.

Items retrieved from the suspects include, 63 wraps and 11 slabs of compressed dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp, tramadol tablets, a pair of scissors, lighters, cigarettes, mobile phones, DVD players, loud speakers and a TV Set.

The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing screening and investigations, after which those found culpable, will be charged with the various offences and arraigned before court.
