11 cheat death in a car crash

Kumasi, March 24, GNA - Eleven (11) passengers travelling on a 207 Mercedes Benz bus sustained various degrees of injury when the vehicle crashed into another vehicle on Wednesday morning at Kuwait Junction in Kumasi.

They were rus hed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for treatment.

It occurred at about 0830 hours.

According to an eyewitness, the speeding bus was heading towards the Anloga-Juction and as the driver attempted to overtake a taxi-cab ahead of him, he lost control of the vehicle. In the process, it crashed into the salon car, somersaulting three times before landing on its side.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Stephen Sarfo Tenkorang, Second-in-Command of the Asokwa Police District, confirmed the accident to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) and said they had started investigations. He called on drivers to take road safety education seriously and ensure respect for road traffic regulations to prevent accidents.
