10-year-old US-based Ghanaian scientist shares his perspective on today's world

A 10-year-old Ghanaian-born American scientist, Sean Atitsogbe, has expressed deep concern over the recent turmoil affecting lives across the globe.

He noted that he feels pessimistic about the world’s future, citing widespread crimes as evidence that society is gradually descending into chaos.

Atitsogbe, known on social media as "Sean the Science Kid," specifically highlighted mass shootings in the United States and other parts of the world as particularly alarming.

In an interview with CNN's Dr Sanjay Gupta, Atitsogbe expressed frustration over the prevalence of violence, predicting a grim outlook for the future.

"The world is in a state of turmoil. We're doomed. Everything happening now seems negative. As my mom and her prayer group say, every single day there’s a new shooting. If you watch the news, you’ll see at least one shooting every day.

"It feels like there’s a state of evil everywhere; people are doing unruly, unholy, psychotic things for no reason. What compels someone to kill another person? An old grandma is shopping for diapers for her grandson, and someone just walks in and starts shooting? There’s no reason. So, I’m not very optimistic about the world right now," he said.

Sean has gained popularity in the US for his teachings about the brain and heart. The young science prodigy dreams of becoming a neurocardio surgeon.
