In a rare sight, two of Ghana’s controversial political figures from the two main political parties, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC), were seen side-by-side during the 2026 Eid ul-Fitr celebrations.
A video shared by The1957News on X on March 20, 2026, captured the NDC National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, and the Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, seated together at the Black Star Square.
Despite their frequent fiery debates in the political arena, both leaders were seen respectfully following the Islamic proceedings and observing the prayers led by the National Chief Imam, Sheik Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu.
