The Inspector-General of Police’ Special Operations Unit (SOA) has apprehended three key gang leaders believed to be behind the notorious Adabraka gold robbery, following months of sustained surveillance and intelligence-led operations.

The arrests were affected on January 19, 2026 in the Ashaiman District. The suspects have been identified as Nashiru Abubakari, alias “Soldiar,” Fatao Mohammed, popularly known as “Motorway,” and a third individual operating under the name “50Cent.”

Police sources indicate that the operation is the culmination of meticulous intelligence gathering, continuous monitoring, and targeted tactical action aimed at dismantling the criminal network responsible for the violent robbery.

According to the Ghana Police Service in a statement on January 20, 2026, “Investigations are ongoing to trace and apprehend other accomplices, while efforts are underway to recover exhibits linked to the crime.
