New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary Justin Frimpong Kodua has dismissed concerns about his ability to work with John Boadu following Boadu’s election as the party’s National Chairman.
The concerns stem from their contest for the General Secretary position at the NPP’s 2022 National Delegates Conference, where Kodua defeated Boadu.
Boadu has since been elected National Chairman of the party on October 3, 2026.
However, Kodua said there is no bad blood between them and that neither of them has expressed an unwillingness to work with the other.
“JB never stood anywhere and said that he can’t work with me. Likewise, I never stood anywhere and said I cannot work with JB,” he said.

According to Kodua, both politicians are mature enough to put the interests of the party ahead of their previous electoral contest.
“So there shouldn’t be any problem. People are entitled to make their own assumptions and to make their own estimations. But for us, we don’t have any issue. We are all mature politicians,” he added.
He said the priority of the incoming leadership should be to unite the party and work towards returning the NPP to power in the 2028 general election.
Kodua also noted that the new national executive team shares a common objective of supporting the party’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, in his bid for the presidency.
“We all have a common agenda, which is to make Dr Mahamudu Bawumia the president of Ghana in 2029. And we are focused,” he said.
